Ben was born and raised in Yadkin County. After high school, he worked various jobs that increased his life experience before enrolling in Basic Law Enforcement Training (BLET) at Surry Community College.
He devoted twelve years to serving and protecting our community as an officer with Statesville Police Department (SPD) and is now with the Iredell County Sherriff's Department.
Policing has never been foreign to Ben. As a child, he would regularly visit the Yadkinville Police Department with his grandmother to see his grandfather, who served as Yadkinville Chief of Police for twelve years.
He grew up hearing stories from his grandfather about the days prior to being chief when he worked with Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) in the District of Columbia, and later the US Capitol Police (USPC) protecting the members of Congress, as Lieutenant on USPC Motorcycle Squad.
Ben's respect for law enforcement deepened with the hearing of stories about the solemn national events that have touched the heart of Americans, as seen through the eyes of one of its police escorts. This service-oriented environment influenced Ben to spend his life helping his community as a police officer.

Then three years ago, Ben saw first-hand the importance a Realtor plays in the lives of people in a community. When he and his wife sold their house, it was a dedicated Realtor who sought out his "Dream Home" and brought him the opportunity to make a truly life-changing decision.
He was deeply grateful for the opportunity to move his family into an "dream" situation. It was at this point that Ben's interest broadened to include this form of serving the people around him.
Ben lives with his wife and children in the Union Grove area of Iredell County. He enjoys landscaping, golf, and Florida Gators football.
